How to create this look

A Grungey, Punky, Edwardian feel that was quite lank, damp and greasy were the touchpoints that were given to us in working out the hair looks for this show.
After testing out ideas, we then came up with 2 distinctly different hair looks and two different product mixes to support this.

Look 1, which all of the blonde models wore had as it’s genesis an 80’s Madonna look low side-part from left to right with a grungey wavy product heavy feel on the right and a slicked back side on the left.
To do this, we sectioned from the high recession backwards on the left side until we were roughly above the back of the ear. The section line then continued diagonally towards the nape on the right hand side of the head.

Hair under this section line was slicked down to the head using successive diagonal back-sections utilising a slick mix of 60% Kms California Gel/40% Flat Out Straightening Crème with a tint brush, Once all sections were complete, hair grips were used to fasten the hair at the roots at the nape on the right hand side.
Next, a grunge mix of 50% Kms California Curl-Up Control Crème/ 50% Add Volume Mousse was applied to the rest of the hair after first wetting it down. This hair moved from left to right, conforming at first to the head contour with no height and then falling naturally on the right side.

Look 2 which featured the dark hair models was our take on a grungey, Edwardian bonnet where the hair was fastened underneath the jawline with grips and long wefting was attached for extra length in the front.
The Grunge mix was then applied to the hair for texture and also to the male models where we utilised their existing haircut shape.
